Our Products Dragon Gardens NW distributes wholesale ceramic pots, planters, fountains and other pottery forms that we import from Asia. Our Boldstone line is created from ball clay fired to cone 5-6 in gas fired kilns. This production method allows us to offer some vivid colors, while still producing a environmentally resilient (frost-proof) product. The majority of our Boldstone line is imported from China. The Marblestone line is created from ball clay fired to cone 8-9 in wood fired kilns. Due to the environment in a high fired kiln and the fuel used, our Marblstone line offers unique, organic finishes in earthen hues. This production method is far less controlled than the gas fired Boldstone, blessing us with some true gems. The majority of our Marblestone is glazed inside adding to its high environmental resilience due to the high sintering temperatures. Floralware products are made from a slip cast procedure using liquid clay and plaster molds. Over a matter of minutes, the plaster mold absorbs the water from the clay, which when the mold is emptied of the residual liquid clay, a "skin" is left in the mold. This skin is the pot, which is hand finished and glazed. Due to the small clay particle size, these pots are NOT able to handle the expansion and contraction of a frost. We offer these as indoor pots in colder climates but can be used outdoors in temperate climates. We consider our bonsai pots heirloom grade containers. The Japanese term for high quality bonsai pots is Tokoname (after a city located in Aichi, Japan, famous for its high quality ceramics.) Our pots are made to exacting demands in a relatively small factory in China. Most of this factories clients are Japanese pottery wholesalers and nurserymen. These are gas-fired to cone 7-8 and most are left unglazed to show the quality craftsmanship that a glaze can hide. The Fiberclay products continue to be in the development phase. We are not yet convinced that this product can withstand the acidic soils required for flower and shrub viability and have discontinued general sales of this product while we work with the manufacturer to test the product. If you would like to participate in our testing, please contact eric@dragongardens.com. Construction stone and statuary is a new line for us as we look to diversify during this challenging economic climate. There are many Marble quarries and factories in close proximity to our ceramics factories in China. Over the past year, Eric has visited a number of said factories and negotiated terms that allow us to offer partial loads of stone and statue in our FCL Direct program. At the Portland Flower Market you will also find; tropical specimens, bloomers & orchids, ferns & vines, nursery stock, lucky bamboo, glass vases & accents, succulents & cacti, fresh cut flowers (including roses & orchids), dry arrange-ments, greens, garlands & wreaths, silk plants & flowers, extensive seasonal interior décor & floral supplies. |
